Savannah’s Hispanic Business Community Opens Heritage Month With Culture, Entrepreneurship and Connection

SAVANNAH, Ga. Hispanic Heritage Month opened in Savannah with an event that put culture and business growth in the same room.

The Metropolitan Savannah Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce held its 2026 Hispanic Heritage Celebration Breakfast at the Hyatt Regency Savannah, bringing together local entrepreneurs, business leaders, community partners and other guests for a morning centered on cultural identity, economic contribution and stronger regional connections.

WTOC reported that the gathering included a Parade of Countries, a Hispanic breakfast buffet, music, folkloric dance performances and recognition of people working to support Hispanic-owned and small businesses across the region. The chamber also introduced new board members during the event.

Culture was part of the business conversation

The breakfast was designed as more than a networking event. WJCL reported that the 2026 theme was “Our Culture, Our Contribution, Our Commitment,” tying the celebration directly to the role Hispanic residents and entrepreneurs play in Coastal Georgia.

During the Parade of Countries, attendees organized behind national flags representing their family and cultural roots. The format gave business owners and community leaders a way to make heritage visible while also building relationships across the Savannah area.

The chamber’s footprint reaches beyond Savannah

The Metropolitan Savannah Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce says it serves businesses, entrepreneurs, professionals and community partners across ten Coastal Georgia counties: Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh and Screven.

Its stated mission centers on supporting the economic development of the region’s Hispanic business community, including helping entrepreneurs start, operate and grow businesses while creating stronger connections with larger organizations and the wider business community.

That makes the Savannah breakfast part of a broader regional business network rather than a one-day cultural celebration.

More Hispanic Heritage events are coming

The breakfast opened a larger slate of events. The chamber’s 2026 Hispanic Heritage Festival is scheduled for September 19 at Savannah’s Eastern Wharf, continuing the month with a public community celebration.

WJCL also reported that the breakfast serves as the kickoff to a month of activity surrounding Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs nationally from September 15 through October 15.
