ATLANTA, Ga. — Atlanta police are searching for information about an early Sunday shooting in a Downtown parking lot after an argument ended with one person suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Officers responded to 101 Andrew Young International Boulevard NW at approximately 2:37 a.m. on November 1, 2026, according to an initial Atlanta Police Department account reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.

Investigators say the dispute involved a victim and a passenger in a parked vehicle. Police allege the passenger drew a firearm and shot the victim several times before fleeing. Paramedics transported the injured person to Grady Memorial Hospital. The initial police account did not publicly disclose the victim's medical condition.

What police say happened

Officers were called to the parking lot after gunfire was reported shortly after 2:30 a.m. Police found the wounded person outside the vehicle. Their preliminary investigation indicated an argument had taken place between the victim and a passenger before shots were fired.

Authorities said the alleged shooter and the vehicle's driver left the scene after the shooting. The released account did not say whether they departed on foot or in another vehicle, and did not provide a full description of the car. ANG will not fill those gaps with speculation.

FOX 5 reported the exact address as 101 Andrew Young International Boulevard NW. Atlanta News First separately described the same incident as occurring near an AC Hotel in Downtown Atlanta. Police have not said in the available reports that hotel guests or staff were involved.

What investigators have not identified

In the first public reporting, Atlanta police had not released the injured person's name or condition, and the alleged shooter and driver had not been publicly identified. Investigators also had not explained what caused the argument, whether the participants knew one another, or whether a vehicle had been recovered.

No named suspect or arrest in this specific case was confirmed by the sources reviewed on November 1. It would therefore be premature to announce a suspect, characterize the attack as random, or say the victim was in stable or critical condition.

Police said they were continuing to investigate the confrontation and search for the circumstances surrounding it. Those findings may change as witnesses, video footage or other evidence become available.

Why this is not the other Downtown shootout

Several shootings were reported across Atlanta after Halloween, and two Downtown incidents occurred within roughly an hour of each other. The similarity of the reports makes it important to distinguish their locations and preliminary facts.

In a separate shooting around 1:32 a.m. on Courtland Street NE, police reported that two men exchanged gunfire after an argument. In that case, authorities said one man was wounded, another was detained and two handguns were recovered. That was not the parking-lot shooting at 101 Andrew Young International Boulevard.

This Article 092 concerns only the 2:37 a.m. Andrew Young Boulevard incident. Facts about arrests, injuries or recovered weapons from Courtland Street should not be attached to this case without evidence.

The Downtown Atlanta setting

The address is in the heart of Downtown Atlanta, where hotels, restaurants, entertainment destinations and pedestrian traffic coexist with parking areas and vehicle access. Weekend overnight traffic can bring together visitors, workers and residents, but investigators have not attributed this specific dispute to tourism or any particular event.

The archived photograph accompanying this story shows Andrew Young International Boulevard in 2016. It offers a genuine look at the broader Downtown street corridor, not the site of the November 1 attack. ANG is keeping that distinction explicit because unrelated crime-scene imagery can mislead viewers.

What residents and witnesses can do

Anyone who personally witnessed the parking-lot confrontation or possesses relevant recordings should use official Atlanta Police Department channels to provide information. Calling 911 is appropriate when there is an immediate danger. Do not approach or attempt to identify an alleged suspect based only on social-media speculation.

For readers assessing public safety, one incident is a serious reason for inquiry but not by itself a measure of the safety of every Downtown block or business. Verified incident records, investigation updates and broader trends are needed for responsible conclusions.

A developing investigation

As of the initial November 1 public reports, the victim had been taken to Grady Hospital; police had not disclosed the victim's condition, a confirmed motive or the identity of either person who fled. ANG will update this report if an official arrest, confirmed medical update or other substantial development is released.

The Georgia inside the story

For Atlanta, the public-interest question is not simply how many shots were fired, but how a dispute in a central city parking area unfolded, whether investigators can locate the people involved and what subsequent findings mean for safety around a heavily visited Downtown district. Until police release more, the responsible story is the confirmed chronology—and the important details still unknown.
