On May 30, 1966, the couple exchanged vows in Ringgold on Memorial Day. Dolly’s official archive confirms that she was 18 and Carl was 21 when they married, two years after meeting in Nashville.
It was an intentionally simple beginning to a marriage that would last until Carl’s death on March 3, 2025, just shy of 59 years.
